i can’t figure

Posted on: May 27, 2007

what the most disturbing part of this story is.

Can you help me? Is it the giant pig or the boy with the pistol? Or both? And I quote:

“It feels really good,” Jamison said. “It’s a good accomplishment. I probably won’t ever kill anything else that big.”

Yurk.

I can’t understand hunting and killing – for pleasure??????

Appart from the fact that I dont agree with hunting and killing as a sport ( for food I can accept)
But it is totally unneccesary for a child to be anywhere near a gun.

For a child to find so much pleasure in chasing the pig for 3 hours is a concern also.

I hope the pigs mama is huge and squashes the little brat.

“Some Pig”. I find it more disturbing that an 11 year old is hunting.

I find hunting slightly worrying at the best of times, how sober are some of these guys?? But I don’t think any child should be taken hunting, they shouldn’t be near guns for any reason till their adult. But I so realise there must be a need to breed gun toting loonies early, lest they die out.

There is a certain mentality that thinks hunting is sport and that you start your sons early. I personally think the whole thing is insane. Wild Boars are dangerous. What I notice got left out was all the risks.
I sincerely hope that someone lands in jail for failure to have the proper license. Even in the South, usually the minimum age for hunting is 12.

I found it very alarming. Well more than that really ,it was quite obscene. And the boy is so right that there soon wont be anything that big left to kill.

People like that really shouldn’t be abllowed to breed. And they certainly shouldn’t have guns!

I can’t understand the mentality of some people. I did read that aritcle yesterday and also thought how disturbing, no wonder they have so many shootings in America. And they seemed so proud of the fact that the boy killed his first deer when he was only 5.

I agree, I find the entire thing disturbing. Unfortunately as a U.S. citizen I am somewhat outnumbered with the “shoot em up” crowd. There is some sort of sense of entitlement when it comes to not only guns but the power of life and death over animals and people over here. I’ll never get the “oh what a beautiful deer, I think I’ll kill it” mindset.
