Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is? The weather is gorgeous today:

I am on holidays for two weeks, and not before time either. I have been knitting this morning and intend to keep going all day with a couple of tiny breaks here and there. I am about to turn the heel of my second Swirly Girl sock. Thankfully the person who will receive these has a size 5 foot, so I imagine I will finish this pair today. Then, it’s 8 pairs to go for Christmas!

I have ‘acquired’ a leg and my KnitPicks dpns arrived:

The needles are very smooth and shiny (so is the leg!) and thankfully not as pointy as I was expecting. I had heard stories of people being stabbed and having painful fingers, but I don’t think that will happen. I have been knitting with Birch needles until now, except for the occassional foray into bamboo. The Birch needles are really quite acceptable, but I tend to wear the paint off which makes them a bit scratchy. Here is a comparison between the Birch and the KnitPicks:

And here is The Leg with a Swirly Girl sock on:

If I tried to point my toe in that manner I would be struck down with cramp! She is doing a lovely job of modelling don’t you think?
Oh that sock is so pretty. Love the leg!
Pointy sticks and pointy toes – lovely.
Isn’t the weather lovely?? I ventured out into the real world again today too!! I lurve your leg!! And it does show off socks so nicely: the Knitpicks are wonderful too.
Happy Holidays!!!1
Yay! You have a leg! ;D The sock is looking FAB. And our weekend weather is rubbish having spent the working week stuck indoors while the sun and temperature are the best they’ve been all summer :/
that looks great Amanda! You are doing very very well. Good on you for knitting all day!
Love that spring has sprung! I also get the cramp that comes with pointed toes….so painful. Very impressed with your model leg. I love how she works it for the camera.
Oh holidays i have a week off in a few more weeks.
LOve the leg hope it doesnt walk out on you
Toe cramps KILL!!! I had one the other day while digging through my stash! Perhaps it was a sign for me to stick with my WIP’s and not attempt to start anything else. The sock looks great! Like a candy cane. Spring has sprung…here fall is falling.
A well-deserved badge I would say – way to be an ambassador! Nice sock and sock yarn eye candy too
